Short biography
Emily MK works at the overlap of art and science, exploring interconnections between tangible and intangible aspects of the natural world and technology, and uses contrasting media and scale to illustrate how transformation has the power to alter an experience while fundamental material remains the same. Emily MK holds a Master of Science degree in Art Conservation from Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (Newark, DE) and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, NY); as a published conservation and documentation specialist, she worked on conservation projects, lectured, and taught in Italy, China, Spain, and across the United States. MK is a lifelong musician, and has been an electronic music-making enthusiast for over 20 years.
